When Neldor awakes from a fraught dream, the city of Gotweil is in flames. Rousing the others, they discover that Auriel is missing. After a desperate search and a skirmish with the remnants of a skeletal invasion, the group finds a new friend in VIJI, Loxodon monk with a nasty right cross and a ferocious trunk slap.
